at Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites

Saturday April 22, 2017, 10 am to 3 pm

There is no better place to celebrate Earth Day than Fort Rodd Hill! Give back to the earth and join the Volunteer Victoria Youth Advisory Committee, VEMRA, and Parks Canada for a day celebrating the beauty and bounty of our Garry Oak ecosystems.
10 am – 12 pm Ecosystem Restoration and Tree Planting with Volunteer Victoria Youth Advisory Committee (register in advance to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 250-812-8133).
1 pm - 3 pm “Victorian Tea” in the Garry Oak Learning Meadow (courtesy of the Victoria Esquimalt Military Re-Enactors Association).
1 pm - 3 pm Mural-painting in the Garry Oak Learning Meadow with the Volunteer Victoria Youth Advisory Committee and local artist, Christina Timms.
1:30 & 2:30 pm Guided walks in the Garry Oak Learning Meadow with a Parks Canada Naturalist.
10 am - 3 pm Meet a Parks Canada Naturalist at our Species at Risk booth. Make a native plant seed
bomb to take home.
