What does HAT do with acquired lands?
Lands that HAT acquires, through purchase or donation, are protected forever. Sometimes, HAT or one of our partner organisations keeps these properties and protects them with conservation covenants and detailed restoration or management plans. In other cases, HAT donates properties as parkslands to local, regional, or provincial governments. In all cases, HAT protects the natural areas on properties that we acquire. Fundraising is on-going for these, and other, acquisitions. Help us protect these important places, forever. HAT has an Acquisition fund that is used specifically towards these acquisitions critical to protecting natural areas in our region. You can also donate to HAT's other projects easily, and securely, on-line through Canadahelps.org.
