HAT is restoring a section of Tod Creek to benefit the watershed downstream!
HAT Land Care Coordinator Todd Carnahan trained participants in riparian habitat, species identification, planting skills, and invasive management. Learn about how our local farmers are working to restore the creek as part of the Good Neighbours Program Habitat Acquisition Trust volunteers, local neighbours and farmers had some family-friendly tree planting and streamside restoration on Saturday October 18th.
We hosted the Greater Victoria Green Team who were so helpful and a great enthusiastic group of individuals!
Mary Haig-Brown and Todd explain the work by Friend of Tod Creek Watershed Society.
Todd demonstrates how to plant native species along the creek.
Volunteers are smiling as the sun comes out!
A great group from HAT and the Greater Victoria Green Team came together on a working farm to restore a portion of the creek by removing blackberry and replacing it with native shrubs.
A BIG thanks to such a fantastic group!!
